Eifion Lloyd Davies

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing, after a short illness, of our highly respected and longstanding chairman, Eifion Lloyd Davies.

Originally from North Wales, and a fluent Welsh speaker, Eifion moved to Brynmawr in the early 70s. He was passionately interested in researching local history, particularly in relation to Brynmawr, and generously shared his knowledge with others.

He will be deeply missed by us all and his passing leaves a large gap in the Forum that we will find extremely difficult to fill. Our thoughts are very much with his family at this very sad time.

Newport Film School Project

A few years ago Eifion was involved in presenting a lovely, short film about the Joseph Bailey Trail.  It was a Newport Film School project with Peter Watkins-Hughes and his students. It is around 5 mins in length and a nice way to remember Eifion as he shares his knowledge of our local heritage, accompanied by his dog.
