This fabulous mural of Sir David Brunt, who was raised in Llanhilleth, was recently painted by Andy O'Rourke. The finished result is incredible and the residents of Llanhilleth are delighted with it.
David Brunt was known as the 'Father of Meteorology.' His work was hugely important during WW2 and is still used by meteorologists today.
Members of the Heritage Centre, Llanhilleth are trying to trace relatives of David's, so if you have a connection, or know someone who does, please get in touch using the email address below. They would love to hear from you.

A huge welcome to Joel Budd, acclaimed journalist from The Economist, who visited the Institute today to meet with current and former residents as part of his research into life in the area during the 1960s and 70s.

It was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on such an important period in our community’s history, and to share stories that deserve to be remembered and celebrated.
